Librarian home design

I know, I know, those aren't awesome bookish librarian design choices at all.  Well, they're awesome, but they aren't bookish.  So that can't be right.  My husband and I close on our first home in mid-April, and I've naturally been cruising the web for just the right looks for certain rooms. There's book wallpaper, book decals...but I don't think I'm feeling it. Granted, some are quite fab but...for some reason, there's something about a stack of fake books that makes me a little sad. I think it's because I want them to be REAL books all stacked up!  I mean, the below designs are cool and bookish...but yeah, not feelin' it.

So, book wallpaper is out.  So what will this librarian's future home look like?  Well, it'll still be covered in books, and I think I'll still keep them organized by color because does that pop or what?  Yeah yeah, I know it's all the rage right now, but it's sort of nice to wander from LCC.  After all, if I do that at work, do I want to take that much of work home with me?  Nah.

But anyway.  The house.  We're going with the grey Petal Pusher wallpaper for an accent wall in the dining room (pictured at the top of this post), and are doing the combined dining room/living room/kitchen Winter's Day and Hosta (of Martha Stewart's paint line).  Swoon.

And just for kicks, the downstairs bathroom?  Totes squirrels.
