I discovered Hollie McNish today, and I have another poet crush a-brewin'. I could listen to her talk poetry to me with her audible smirk for hours. Days. Years. I want to listen to McNish for years on repeat. She's got a particular way of inflection in spoken poetry that I always crave and adore to hear. I can hear her smile, frown, sigh. "A British National Breakfast" speaks sobering volumes.
Her motherhood poetry is stunning too (I adore it, and I'm not even a mum).
From her site: "Download for free or donate what you feel. Any money given for this album will be donated to SOS Children's Villages: www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk, helping orphaned children worldwide. Thank you to everyone who has already given. The album has already raised £500 for the previous charity supported: www.camfed.org, educating girls worldwide."
