Patron saint(s) of libraries

Okay, so can we just make Hermione Granger the Patron Saint of Libraries already?

Wait.  There already is a Patron Saint of Librarians and libraries!?  Two of them?  Apparently Saint Jerome and Saint Catherine of Alexandria have already claimed the spots.  Seems like three would be better.  Threes, trinities, all that stuff.

Browsing the whole patron saint list is actually super fun, perhaps because I didn't grow up Catholic (can you tell?) and am not Catholic.  There's a patron saint of backward children (Hilary of Poitiers)!  Patron saints of bees (Abrose of Milan, Bernard of Clairvaux, Modomnoc)!  Patron saints of pastry chefs (Honorius of Amiens, Macarius the Younger)!  Pity I don't see a Patron saint of library patrons.  I'm not sure who I'd pick for the patron saint of patrons, though.  Neil Gaiman, maybe?  I mean if Hermione's going to be the third Patron Saint of Libraries, Gaiman still needs a spot, so that seems fair, right?

  1. Neil Gaiman should be patron saint of saints. If that won't work he's gotta be patron saint of something, & library patrons will do. I'm right there with you.

  2. He should! He's pretty much God. :)
